1.
An ELDERLY FEMALE was walking along GARRATT LANE from the Post Office,
where she had tried to cash her pension. Fortunately as it happened
for her the shop was closed, but it did not deter a male suspect from
grabbing her handbag. He ran off and got into a large red van with
small windows, which was waiting for him at Tooting Broadway. He is
described as being 5'07" tall; he had a scar on his left cheek and
was dressed in a blue duffel coat with a hood.
2. A FEMALE VICTIM was walking along RECTORY LANE, when a suspect
grabbed her handbag. A struggle ensued in which the victim sustained
a broken arm. Police would very much like your help in identifying
her assailant, described as a white male, aged about 35 years, 5'06"
tall, and wearing a grey woolen hat.
3. Residents in LOUBET STREET, or for that matter anywhere else in
Tooting. Were you approached by two males offering to clear rubbish
from your garden? They identify themselves with a calling card in
the name 'J.J. CLEMENCE' and drive around in a dirty, white Ford Escort
Van. Recently a victim left these people in the garden of their house,
returning to find the front door had been kicked in, the premises
empty, and needless to say the two clearance spcecialists no where
to be found.
4. A lady walking in FRANCISCAN ROAD had her mobile phone snatched
from her by a black male aged about 27 years, and 6'0" tall.
5. Whilst on this subject, in GARRATT TERRACE a male victim also had
his mobile phone snatched by a thin,18 year old, white skinned male.
6. Crime is particularly repulsive when it affects old people, none
more so than when the victim is and 85 year old man. The poor victim,
who lives in GLENBURNIE ROAD, was conned out of £50 by two white males
who claimed they were 'neighbours'.
